From African art and artifacts to soul food and family fun, there was plenty on the menu for those in attendance, including some live music for people on hand to enjoy and an opportunity to check out local vendors around the area.

"People speak of American history and Black history as if they are two different and distinct things, and they are not. Black history is American history. That is the component that people don't know about, and this is a chance to educate them on that," commented Jerome Gray, Interim Executive Director of the Black Heritage Library & Multicultural Center.
