He has been motivating students to do well and persevere for more than two decades around the State of Ohio.
Ron Derry is a former teacher and coach that lost his eyesight due to a degenerative eye disease called retinopathy. After being out of the classroom for two years, Derry wanted to once again teach children. He developed the GOOD program, which stands for "Going On or Defeated", to help students understand regardless of how difficult school and life becomes, you can persevere and make it through.
Derry visits more than 100 schools a year including Cridersville Elementary. This is his fifth year speaking to the 4th grade classes and is sponsored by the Cridersville Lions Club.
