The Junk Girl Shop collects donations for local animal rescues

An Elida business decided to lend a helping hand to local animal rescues.

The Junk Girl Shop hosted a donation collection of pet food and toys as well as money donations for Deb's Dogs and the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society.  The pet food will be available in a blessing box at the shop in the near future for people that are in need of pet food but cannot afford it.  The owner the Junk Girl Shop says that helping out was only natural.

"I've just been wanting to do this for a long time now," said Tracy Hutchinson, owner of the shop.  "Our shop is expanded, we've grown so much, and I want to give back; love animals and that's why we're trying to help out."

Donations can still be made to the shop during regular business hours.
