Timely repairs for Auglaize County Courthouse clock

Work on the Auglaize County Courthouse clocks is about to start.

The clocks stopped running back in December, and several repairs are planned to get them running again. The frames and glass of the clocks will be replaced and each side will have a new face and individual motor.  Originally, the plan was to repair the clocks with just the courthouse staff, but since then three companies have given quotes of how much the repairs would cost. Getting the clocks running again would not only be good for the overall look of the courthouse, but it would help citizens, too.

"We take pride in our courthouse and we want to make sure that the clock is a functioning clock because surprisingly, a lot of folks look up and use the clock on the courthouse in the community," said Erica Preston, the Auglaize County Administrator.

Work on the clock is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks.
