"Triple C" Sends 3 Teens to the Hospital
Britney Ross was in tears on Thursday after the night before, her 15-year-old-brother overdosed on the cough and cold medication Coricidin. Britney's brother is one of three Celina teens to be hospitalized after taking Coricidin, referred to as "Triple C" by teens. The Celina Police Department is investigating the use of the drug by high school students, and have learned that the teens are shoplifting Coricidin from area dollar stores, and taking more than the recommended dosage in order to get high.

To combat the problem, stores are placing Coricidin and other cough medicine in a visible location or behind the counter. Parents are being asked to keep an eye on their medications and their children, to prevent similar incidents from occurring. Unfortunately, awareness of the problem is too little too late for Britney Ross and her family. Luckily, the family recently received good news that Britney's brother may be returning home soon, but warns others not to make the same mistake.

While Coricidin is not dangerous when taken responsibly, when abused or taken improperly, the results can be fatal.
