March 26 Drug Arrests

CELINA, Ohio (WLIO) — Two Celina residents were arrested on drug-related charges following traffic stops Wednesday.

Deanna Chittum, 32, and Andrew Hesse, 43, were booked into the Mercer County Jail.

Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman said deputies and members of the Grand Lake Task Force conducted several traffic stops as part of a drug interdiction effort.

Chittum was initially arrested on traffic offenses, but while being transported to jail, she allegedly took suspected methamphetamine she had on her and attempted to conceal it in the rear of the patrol car. She now faces charges of drug possession and tampering with evidence.

Hesse was booked on a charge of possession of drug abuse instruments.

Both cases will be presented to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if additional charges will be filed.

Celina, OH – Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman reports the arrest of a male and female on drug related charges.  On Wednesday March 27, Deputies and members of the Grand Lake Task Force conducted drug interdiction.  Several traffic stops were made and the following individuals were arrested: 

Andrew Hesse, age 43 from Bayview Road in Celina, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instruments, he later posted bond. 

Deanna Chittum, age 32 from Market Street in Celina, was initially arrested for driving under suspension and fictitious registration.  During the transport to the Mercer County Detention Facility,  Chittum removed suspected methamphetamine from her person and concealed it in the rear of the patrol car.  Chittum is being charged with possession of drugs, a felony of the 5th degree and tampering with evidence, a felony of the 3rd degree.  Chittum is currently being held on no bond.   

These cases will be sent to the Mercer County Prosecutors Office for review of any additional charges.
