Dave Miller and Earl Hofstetter were named the Ohio Habitat Volunteers of the Year.

Dave Miller and Earl Hofstetter were named the Ohio Habitat Volunteers of the Year. They will be recognized at the state conference on November 8th. Combined, they have more than 25 years of working on construction crews for new homes or new roofs and even helping at the Lima Restore.

Both men say they don't volunteer for the recognition, but just because they like helping out a good cause.

"I get a lot of satisfaction out of supporting a worthy organization, help build homes, repair roofs, things like that. It's very interesting because a lot of different materials come in, work with a great group of people. So, it's just an enjoyable time," says Dave Miller, Ohio Habitat Volunteer of the Year.

"I picked Habitat because I was involved with construction before I retired, worked on Saturdays, and I thought it was a good program. So, before I retired, I made the decision to do volunteer work somewhere. So, being in the construction crew on Saturdays was a good fit for me. So, I volunteer there, and I have been there close to 11 years now," says Earl Hofstetter, Ohio Habitat Volunteer of the Year.

Hofstetter and Miller encourage others to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity either on a construction crew or in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore Lima to get the same satisfaction they get from working with the agency.
