Allen County Auditor, Rhonda Eddy-Stienecker, speaking at the Chamber's monthly Wake, Rattle & Roll about "Everything you never knew you never knew about property taxes". She touched upon valuations of property and how taxes are determined.
In Allen County only 3% of your tax bill goes to the county. There are 54,000 parcels that are mass appraised and Eddy-Stienecker encourages people to double check the county appraisal. "Always make sure that your information is correct, we do mass appraisals. So make sure you go on our website and make sure that we have the correct number of bathrooms, the correct number of square footage, etc. And also be engaged and understand that."
