DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) - Police looking into what they believe to be a murder-suicide in Delphos.
Delphos officers were called out to the 300 block of South Bredeick Street late Monday afternoon after the report of gunshots heard from inside a home there. Investigators tell us they found the bodies of two adults inside the residence. Both were taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for autopsies.
Police say the preliminary investigation reveals the case is consistent with a murder/suicide situation and a handgun was found at the scene. No names have been released yet pending the notification of family members.
Delphos Police were assisted by crime scene agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification.

DELPHOS, Ohio - On September 15, at 4:09 p.m., city police were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Bredeick Street in Delphos on reported gunshots heard from inside a residence. On arrival, city police officers discovered (2) deceased adults inside the residence.
City Police Investigators were assisted by Crime Scene Agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification along with the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office.
Both adults were later transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed. The names of the deceased persons have not yet been released, pending the notification of family members.
The preliminary investigation reveals this case is consistent with a Murder/Suicide situation. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

City Police were assisted at the scene by the Marion Township Police Department, Delphos Fire and Rescue along with Delphos EMS. Park Officers from the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park Division also arrived to assist. The Van Wert Ohio State Patrol assisted the P.D. at an accident in Delphos, while officers were still securing the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
