VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — A Van Wert man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to a sexual battery charge involving a teenager.
Willam Ladd, 51, was sentenced this week in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court to four to six years in prison to one count of sexual battery.
As part of a plea agreement in a earlier court hearing, additional sexual battery charges and a charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material were dismissed.
According to the indictment, the incidents occurred between July 2025 and February 2026. The victim was younger than 17 years old.
In addition to the prison sentence, Ladd was classified as a Tier III sex offender, Ohio's highest sex offender classification.
