Weston man killed in head-on crash in Wood County

November 13, 2024, Press Release from the Wood County Sheriff's Office: At 6:02 AM, the Wood County Sheriff's Office investigated a fatal crash on S. Dixie Highway north of Cygnet Road. 23-year-old Dishawn Arnett of Fostoria was driving north on Dixie Highway in a GMC pickup when a southbound Chevrolet pickup, driven by 58-year-old Kurt Mazey of Weston, went left of center and struck him head-on. Mr. Mazey was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Mr. Arnett was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by North Baltimore EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
