Wiltsie picked for Delphos council seat

The Delphos Council is now complete, as the seat vacated by now Mayor Josh Gillespie, gets a new council member.

The members of the Allen and Van Wert County’s Central Committee unanimously picked Scott Wiltsie to fill the open council-at-large seat. Wiltsie has worked numerous years in the business sector, the last 15 years at Human Resource Manager at the Vanamatic Company.

"I have been very involved in business, in Van Wert and Allen County, Apollo, Vantage. I have experiences with a lot of different organizations. I think the experience that I have can be a benefit for the citizens of this town," said Scott Wiltsie.

Gillespie was sworn in as mayor earlier this month and he has set some goals for the city as they head into 2018.

"The number one goal is to make sure we have a budget that will be fiscally responsible, to make sure we can provide all the services to our citizens. We are looking at putting together some committees made up by some citizens, that they can help us develop some different things we are looking at," commented Josh Gillespie.

Gillespie won the mayors race in November, beating three candidates for the position.
