Winning school of annual food drive announced

Hundreds of people less fortunate will be getting a meal thanks to a food fight between several local schools.

Friday, HCF Management announcing the winner of their 2nd annual food drive. Temple Christian Schools collected the equivalent of 2,857 cans of food, which includes food and money representing 2 cans per dollar raised. The competition pitted five schools of different student enrollments against each other. The totals were decided by a ratio of the number of students-to-cans collected. Temple Christian's 230 students averaged just over 12 cans each and earned $400 from HCF for their efforts.

Also participating in order of cans collected were Shawnee, Spencerville, Apollo, and Wapakoneta schools. More than 14,300 cans of food were collected to be donated to the facility of the school's choice.
