Woman accused in Reigle death appears in court

The teenager accused in death of Vera Jo Reigle appears in Hancock County court for a motion hearing.

Nicole Peters is accused in the stabbing death of Reigle.  Peters attorneys filed a motion arguing when police questioned her about Reigle's disappearance she wasn't read her Miranda Rights until 30 minutes into the interview. Because of that, defense lawyers say the video of police questioning her shouldn't be admissible in court.

The prosecution called three members of the police department to take the stand.  The two detectives who conducted the interview testified they didn't read Peters her Miranda Rights until they learned she was wanted as a runaway.

Prosecutors say before that Peters was being treated only as a witness to a possible disappearance, not as a suspect.

The defense disagrees and says the DVD of Peters questioning shows she was confused when read her rights, which she then waived.

Peters and her boyfriend Daniel Bixler are charged with stabbing of Vera Jo Reigle.

The judge will make a ruling on the the DVD September 19.
