Women small business owners were invited to the White House earlier this week to discuss how high healthcare costs affect small businesses.
The meeting was hosted by Vice President Mike Pence and brought in several government officials as well as the women business owners, one of whom was the president of the Lima Pallet Company, Tracie Sanchez. Sanchez says that she was able to share her business's story of how its growth was delayed because of healthcare changes eight years ago, and how healthcare prices affected her employees.
She was glad that she and other small business owners had a chance to be heard.
"This is the first time that we as small business owners have been invited to the table really even to discuss that, so it's really nice that this administration has invited us and are actually going to the front lines and to the people that live it, and breathe it, and pay it every day," Sanchez said.
Nine women in total attended the discussion.
