PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WLIO) — In a highly anticipated Northern Lakes League matchup Friday night, Perrysburg held off a second-half surge by Findlay to secure a 14-10 victory in a battle between two 5-1 teams.

The Yellow Jackets led 14-3 at halftime, but the Trojans cut into the deficit early in the third quarter. Quarterback Miles Bailey connected with Shawn Hines II on a deep pass, and Hines outran the Perrysburg defense for Findlay's first touchdown of the game.

Trailing 14-10, Findlay’s defense stepped up. Brady Maxwell’s pass was tipped by Maycen Hetrick and intercepted by Jed Scott, giving the Trojans another shot to take the lead.

But Perrysburg’s defense held firm in the closing minutes, keeping Findlay out of the end zone and sealing the win in a defensive battle.

With the victory, Perrysburg improves to 6-1 and remains a top contender in the NLL title race. Findlay falls to 5-2.
