HARDIN NORTHERN, Ohio (WLIO) — Ridgedale put an end to its five-game losing streak Friday night, defeating Hardin Northern 14-0 in a Northwest Central Conference showdown marked by physical play and timely execution.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Rockets found momentum with a game-changing play on defense. A tipped pass landed in the arms of Michael Deas, who rumbled across the field while carrying defenders before being brought down deep in Polar Bear territory.
That turnover set up the game’s opening score — a 13-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Lincoln Kramer to Brody Foltz — giving Ridgedale a 7-0 lead. Deas continued to make an impact on the offensive side, stringing together a pair of powerful runs to move the chains and set up his own rushing touchdown later in the half. His bruising running style helped seal the win and push the lead to 14-0.
Both defenses tightened in the second half, but the Rockets (1-5, 1-2 NWCC) held firm to secure their first victory of the season and a much-needed boost in conference play.
Hardin Northern (1-5, 0-3 NWCC) struggled to generate consistent offense and was shut out for the second time this year. Ridgedale will look to build on the win next week, while the Polar Bears continue to search for answers as the second half of the season unfolds.
