The Lima Community Foundation celebrated 60 years of philanthropy with a major announcement at a location it helped bring to life.
To help fill the positions, the company is holding a hiring event the evening of Friday, Aug. 1, and the morning of Saturday, Aug. 2, giving both teens and adults a chance to learn more about the available jobs at the park.
As the Walking the Wards series continues, Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith made a special stop at the Allen County Council on Aging.
The City of Lima is one step closer to opening the much anticipated community aquatic park.
“We're approaching 1,000 fuel tanks erected as we speak,” said Everett "Butch" Kirk, president of International Tank. “So it's been a great run. We're a family business. I'm third generation. My children are fourth generation and glad to be part of Lima, Ohio.”
The park’s construction was funded through federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars, but its long-term management and maintenance will be supported by the endowment fund. A $5 million goal was set for the fund, and it is currently about 82% of the way there.
