Many of the open class projects are displayed in the Fine Arts Building on the north end of the fairgrounds. Exhibits include quilts, antiques, art and more. This is also where fair goers can see the cornerstone of the open class — the largest vegetables, canned goods and contests featuring appetizers, homemade wines, and more.

Shoppers can expect a wide selection of fresh, local produce—some of which is picked the same morning as the market. In addition to fruits and vegetables, vendors will offer baked goods, canned jellies, and other homemade products.

It comes once a year, and hundreds come out in support. The St. Rita's Holiday Street Fair is the biggest fundraiser that the Mercy Health-St. Rita's Auxiliary holds. Volunteers spend hours creating hundreds of holiday decorations. There is also a basket raffle of a variety of items donated by the medical center's departments.  All monies raised go towards the organization's pledge, and organizers say it is a great fundraiser.

For nearly 50 years, the St. Rita's Auxiliary and volunteers have been helping people out during the Christmas season as they raise money to help the medical center. This Thursday, December 4, 2024, they will be holding their annual Holiday Street Fair. There will be homemade crafts and decorations, dog treats, and items for sale. There is also a cookie walk and a country kitchen to stock up on holiday sweets. Plus, they will have a veterans' table for people to get information.

Thanksgiving is less than a week away, but the Lima Sparty Friends are celebrating a little early! On Friday afternoon, the "Littles" from Unity, Freedom, Heritage, and Independence Elementary Schools visited their "Bigs" at West Middle School for their Thanksgiving celebration.

It has become a holiday tradition in the Lima area. The South Side Christian Church's "Holiday Treasures" bazaar is at the end of this week. Members of the Disciple's women's group at the church work all year crafting and creating. The bazaar dates back to the 1950s, raising money for local non-profits, and it also provides fellowship for those who work on the sale. Members say they are blessed to be able to help others with the sale.

November 1, 2024, Press Release from Lima Memorial Health System: The Lima Memorial Auxiliary invites the community to kick off the holiday season at its annual Holiday Bazaar and Gift Shop Open House on Friday, November 8. The event will take place in the Lima Memorial Welcome Center, which will be transformed into a festive holiday shopping destination in support of the Lima Memorial Auxiliary.
