LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Thanksgiving is less than a week away, but the Lima Sparty Friends are celebrating a little early!

Sparty Friends gather for their Thanksgiving celebration

While indulging in the Turkey Day sweets, the "Bigs" and "Littles" colored Thanksgiving hats while playing games as well.

On Friday afternoon, the "Littles" from Unity, Freedom, Heritage, and Independence Elementary Schools visited their "Bigs" at West Middle School for their Thanksgiving celebration. There was an array of desserts, from classic pumpkin and apple pies to cookies and cupcakes, for the kids to enjoy. While indulging in the Turkey Day sweets, the "Bigs" and "Littles" colored Thanksgiving hats while playing games as well. Through all the fun, we talked with two kids about what Thanksgiving means to them.

"It means to me... it's good for getting together with your families," says Trenton Stant, 4th grader from Heritage Elementary School.

"Uh, meeting up with family, spending time with them, eating, and then falling asleep," says Acie Myers, 8th grader from West Middle School.

The Sparty Friends are already planning for Christmas, and they will be decorating cookies on December 16th at Lima Senior.
