The police department has a large number of bicycles that have been located or turned in. The Lima Fire Department responded to a house fire Wednesday morning. The call came in around 9 a.m. for a fire in the 600 block of North Elizabeth Street. No power had been at the house for a year and the property has been empty for some time. The Lima Fire Department also says that people have been squatting inside the home and that this is not the first fire that this property has seen.
Just before three o'clock, the Bath Fire Department was called out to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of East Elm Street.
The closure is expected to last 45 days and drivers are asked to take alternative routes. But vehicles will be able to travel in the 100 block of South Main Street starting on Friday. Market Street will continue to have temporary lane restrictions at the intersection during the construction. The work is weather permitting.
First responders were called to a garage fire at around 2 p.m. on the 1000 block of Front Street. Upon arrival the fire spread to other parts of the house. According to the Alger Assistant Fire Chief no one was injured, and everyone made it out, but they believe the home will be considered a total loss.
