A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Findlay Wednesday afternoon.
A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy was killed in the line of duty on Memorial Day. According to a statement from Morrow County Sheriff John Hinton, Deputy Daniel Weston Sherrer, 31, was shot and killed while responding to a domestic situation in the village of Marengo.

During a media conference Thursday, Chief James Mathias talked about the October 28, 2024, shooting at Bernard Park. He says around six-thirty that night, officers were called to the park following a complaint that was called in about three teenagers drinking. When the officers were talking to the teens, officials say 17-year-old Kalvin Darapheth took off running.
A juvenile died from his injuries from an officer-involved shooting in Findlay Monday night. Findlay police officials say the juvenile died after being life-flighted to a Toledo hospital. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday at Benard Park. Police were called to the park for reports of three juveniles drinking in the park.
Findlay Police say an officer-involved shooting occurred in the city during a foot pursuit by officers. Just before 6:30 Monday evening, Findlay Police were dispatched to Bernard Park on a report of 3 juveniles drinking alcoholic beverages. After officers arrived, a male juvenile suspect began to flee by foot, and an officer pursued him. During the chase, the juvenile fired a gunshot at the officer, and the officer returned fire hitting the male suspect.
