FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) - A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Findlay Wednesday afternoon.

The Findlay Police Department says that they were dispatched to 1642 Cherry Lane just before 2 PM on reports of a shooting. Dispatch was not able to contact the caller and officers knocked on the door. A man answered and brandished a firearm. The officers fired several shots, striking the man several times. Police also searched the home but found no one else inside.

The suspect was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No officers were injured in this incident.

The identity of the man has not yet been released. The incident is under investigation by Ohio BCI.

FINDLAY, Ohio - Officers were dispatched to 1642 Cherry Ln. for the report of a shooting. Once on scene dispatch attempted to contact the caller but received no answer. Officers went to the door and it was opened by a male. The male brandished a firearm at the Officers. Officers fired several rounds at the male suspect, striking him several times. Officers cleared the house and no one one else was located in the home. Officers rendered aid to the suspect. The male suspect was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco. He was pronounced deceased at Blanchard Valley Hospital. No officers were injured.

The identity of the suspect is not being released until next of kin can be notified.

The investigation is being conducted by the BCI investigative unit.
