KENTON, Ohio (WLIO) - An 18-year-old is in custody after an officer involved shooting in Kenton on Tuesday night.
According to the Kenton Police Department, the shooting happened in the parking lot of Ralphie's Sports Eatery. Police were called to the scene for reports of a stolen vehicle, which had been reported missing from Lima earlier in the afternoon. The shooting happened after officers arrived, and 18-year-old Jaden Shannon of Dayton fled the area in the stolen vehicle. Shannon led officers on a pursuit before crashing into a residence, running off on foot and eventually apprehended on North Market Street.
Shannon is facing multiple charges including assault on a peace officer, fleeing and eluding, and receiving stolen property. Further details are being withheld through an investigation by the Ohio BCI.
