The levy will provide funding to maintain and support services and facilities for the elderly in the county. It specifically benefits programs operated by the Allen County Council on Aging, Senior Citizen Services of Allen County, the Senior Citizens Association of Bluffton, and Delphos Senior Citizens.
The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board recently received "One Ohio" funds to support two programs designed to assist individuals struggling with opioid addiction. Commissioners have allocated just over $50,000 to the Allen-Auglaize County Peer Center, operated by Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions, and to a dedicated intervention specialist for the juvenile court system.

Superintendent Theresa Schnipke has announced that the Allen County Board of DD has begun preparations to pursue a shared superintendent with the Auglaize County Board of Developmental Disabilities as Schnipke nears her retirement. On August 1st, 2024, Auglaize County Board of DD Superintendent Renee Kohler will head the shared superintendent role for both counties. Lima City Council green lights over $250,000 to be allocated for over a dozen community projects. The city will be distributing around $278,000 of CDBG and Home funds to 13 projects that provide support services for people and families with low-to-moderate income.
The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Business Advisory Council hosted their inaugural Independence Fair on Tuesday.
