ANNA, Ohio (WLIO) — Anna opened conference play with a dominant 65–26 victory over Houston on Tuesday night, extending the Rockets’ winning streak against the Wildcats to 21 games.
Houston entered the contest seeking its first win of the season at 0–4 but struggled to keep pace after halftime as Anna pulled away in the third quarter.
Carter Wenning helped fuel the Rockets’ momentum by converting an and-one opportunity early in the second half. Julian Stearns followed with a basket off the glass to extend the lead as Anna continued to control the tempo.
Houston found brief success from the perimeter as Isaiah Wiley knocked down a 3-pointer and drew a foul. The Wildcats added another transition basket when Dominic Stangel connected from the corner.
Anna responded by maintaining pressure on both ends of the floor. Stearns capped the run by grabbing his own miss and finishing inside with a left-handed layup.
The Rockets cruised the rest of the way to secure the 65–26 conference win, while Houston remained winless on the season.
