LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Bath continued its strong run against Bryan on Tuesday night, earning a 67-41 victory and setting up an all-Western Buckeye League showdown in the next round.
The Wildcats, who have now won four of the last five meetings against Bryan, built momentum before halftime and never looked back.
Josiah Clark sparked Bath late in the second quarter, cutting backdoor and finishing through traffic for a layup.
Moments later, Dagan Hawkins pushed the pace in transition, taking the ball coast-to-coast for another score as the Wildcats carried a double-digit lead into the break.
The second half belonged to senior Logan Markley.
Markley attacked the rim repeatedly, scoring inside and finishing through contact. On one sequence, he drove nearly the length of the court for an and-one play, energizing the home crowd.
Markley finished with a team-high 26 points, surpassing the 1,000-point mark for his career. He becomes the fifth player in program history to reach the milestone.
Bath’s balanced offense and defensive pressure kept Bryan at bay throughout the second half, sealing the 26-point win.
With the victory, the Wildcats advance to face Ottawa-Glandorf in an all-WBL matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Paulding High School.
