Columbus Grove advances with dominant win over Carey

LIMA (WLIO) — Defending Division VI champion Columbus Grove continued its postseason push with a 53-20 victory over Carey in a district semifinal at Lima Senior.
Allison Thompson opened the scoring against Carey’s zone, while District 8 Player of the Year Nicole Nesby fueled the offense in transition and on the block. Kendal Palte beat the first-quarter buzzer with a mid-range jumper to stretch the lead to 14-6.
Brynn Calvelage added a three as the Bulldogs steadily widened the gap and secured a spot in the district final. Columbus Grove will face Colonel Crawford on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Shelby.
