COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO) — Columbus Grove left little doubt on its home floor, cruising to a dominant 66–18 victory over Leipsic in girls basketball action.
The Lady Bulldogs took control in the second quarter. Senior Nicole Nesby finished through contact for the basket and the foul, converting the free throw to make it 33–13 in favor of Columbus Grove.
Moments later, Brynn Calvelage swung the ball to Allison Thompson, who knocked down a three-pointer to extend the lead. The Bulldogs continued to share the basketball, as Nesby found a wide-open Calvelage on the perimeter, and the freshman buried the triple to continue the scoring run.
Columbus Grove carried a commanding 41–14 advantage into the break and never let up.
In the second half, the Bulldogs turned defense into offense. Thompson jumped a passing lane, raced out on the fastbreak, and finished on the other end to keep the momentum firmly on the home side.
With balanced scoring and relentless defensive pressure, Columbus Grove rolled to the 66–18 win over the Lady Vikings.
