Countdown to Kickoff: Upper Scioto Valley builds around new QB in NWCC title defense
- Updated
MCGUFFEY, Ohio — Upper Scioto Valley is coming off a dominant run through the Northwest Central Conference that resulted in their first NWCC title since 2021, and third all-time.
Now, the Rams are out to defend their crown in 2025, with plenty of motivation after last season’s narrow losses at both ends of their 9-2 schedule: a one-point opening-night defeat to archrival Ada, and a playoff-opening heartbreak against Delphos St. John’s.
Week One’s rematch with Ada is already circled, but this year’s team will look different. Gone is All-Ohio quarterback and NWCC Player of the Year Maddox Underwood, leaving junior Caiden Lowery set to take over under center.
In his ninth year at the helm, head coach Dustin Price believes his group has what it takes to repeat.
