BLUFFTON — Crestview showed why it continues to climb in Division VI, as the 15th-ranked Knights rolled to a sweep over Bluffton on Monday night.
Crestview set the tone early, scoring the first six points of the match, highlighted by a powerful kill from senior Haley McCoy to seize control of the opening set. Bluffton responded behind senior Kendall Stackhouse, who ended the Knights’ run to get the Pirates on the board.
The Pirates later pulled within striking distance when Emily Granger delivered a timely block, cutting the deficit to 10-4. Sophomore Alecta Baxter answered with a block of her own, keeping momentum on Crestview’s side.
The Knights went on to take the match in straight sets, 25-13, 25-16, 25-22, extending their winning streak to seven. Bluffton dropped to 12-6 with the loss.
