MARION — Elida’s historic girls soccer postseason run came to an end Wednesday night in the Division III regional semifinals.

The Bulldogs fell 5-2 to Granville at Ohio Health Field, marking the program’s first appearance at the regional level.

Granville built an early two-goal advantage before Elida’s Lexie Good broke through to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Blue Aces responded to make it 3-1 by halftime despite strong play from sophomore goalkeeper Arwen Troyer, who recorded seven saves.

Good added her second goal midway through the second half to pull the Bulldogs within two, but Granville’s offense proved too much to overcome.

Elida closes its season with a 14-6-1 record, capping a memorable year with the program’s deepest postseason run to date.
