LIMA (WLIO)— Findlay’s defense came up with big plays all night, intercepting four passes in the first half and adding a second-half pick six to defeat Lima Senior 17-7 on Friday at Spartan Stadium.
The Trojans held the Spartans scoreless through two quarters, taking a 3-0 lead into halftime. Lima Senior briefly surged ahead in the third quarter when Darius Routson returned an interception for a touchdown down the sideline.
But Findlay answered quickly. After recovering a muffed punt, Miles Bailey scored from close range to put the Trojans back in front. Lance Miller then broke loose for a 59-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Jacob Gebhardt intercepted two passes in the first half for Findlay, while Jayden Jones and Carmelo Hays each had picks for Lima Senior.
The Trojans improved to 1-1, while the Spartans dropped to 1-1 after last week’s win over Piqua.
