KALIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — Two 1,000-point scorers were in the building, the Kalida Wildcats defeated the Leipsic Vikings 44-31.
Kylie Langhals and her mother, Rhonda Osterhage, along with little Emma, were among those taking in the action as the Wildcats controlled the second half.
Kalida began to create separation after the break. Off a missed shot, Ava Huber cleaned up the glass and converted the putback to push the Wildcats’ lead into double digits.
Leipsic tried to answer. Freshman Kya Brandt knocked down a jumper and kept the Vikings within striking distance. Brandt led Leipsic with 16 points on the night.
But Kalida continued to execute offensively. Nicole Siebeneck found Addilyn Huber cutting to the basket, and the junior finished inside. Addilyn poured in a game-high 19 points to pace the Wildcats.
In the fourth quarter, Ava Huber came up with a loose ball and turned it into two more points, stretching the lead to 15. She later attacked the rim again for another basket, finishing with eight points.
Kalida secures the 44-31 victory over Leipsic.
