KALIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — Another Putnam County League battle delivered a classic as Kalida hosted Pandora-Gilboa in a high-scoring girls basketball showdown that needed double overtime to decide a winner.

Pandora-Gilboa came out firing in the first quarter. Senior Savannah Knueven knocked down a long-range three on her way to a 24-point night. Ava Huffman followed with a pull-up triple in the second quarter as the Rockets jumped out to a 17-4 lead.

Kalida responded with a run of its own. Junior Addilyn Huber converted an and-one opportunity during a rally that pulled the Wildcats back into the game. Huber finished with a game-high 26 points.

With Kalida trailing by one, Claire Nartker connected from the top of the key to cap a 17-2 Wildcats run and give Kalida a 21-19 advantage. On the defensive end, Nicole Siebeneck added to the momentum by forcing a turnover and taking it coast-to-coast for a layup as she finished with 17 points.

Pandora-Gilboa closed the half strong when Huffman drilled a deep three in the final seconds, giving the Rockets a 30-23 lead at the break.

The two teams continued to trade baskets through regulation and overtime before Kalida finally pulled away in the second extra period. The Wildcats earned a 72-67 double-overtime victory in front of the home crowd.
