ARLINGTON — Liberty-Benton extended its winning streak to six matches Tuesday night, surviving a five-set showdown with Arlington in Blanchard Valley Conference play.

The Red Devils looked strong early in the second set, taking a 19-14 lead behind Maddie Hartman, who slipped a shot between two Eagle defenders. But Liberty-Benton responded with Corra DeHart powering through at the net to trim the deficit. Arlington’s Alexis Grieser kept her side in front with a thunderous kill, but the Eagles eventually rallied back.

In a back-and-forth contest that went the distance, Liberty-Benton seized control in the deciding fifth set, pulling away for a 15-9 victory to seal the 3-2 win.

The Eagles, now 12-2, have won six straight matches, while Arlington drops to 8-9 on the season.
