ADA, OH (WLIO) - Liberty-Benton remained unbeaten in Blanchard Valley Conference play with a 56-16 win over Ada on Tuesday night.
The Eagles set the tone early, moving the ball efficiently on offense and getting an early basket from Corra DeHart, who finished with 10 points.
Ada answered behind freshman Tea Griffith, who attacked the basket for a layup to tie the game in the first quarter.
Liberty-Benton responded quickly, as Megan Gerken found Emma Lieb with a cross-court pass, and Lieb knocked down a 3-pointer to put the Eagles back in front.
Ada stayed within reach for much of the opening half, with Ashley Hevlin scoring inside to keep the Bulldogs close.
The Eagles began to pull away as the game progressed, highlighted by a three-point play from freshman Sophie McDaniel.
McDaniel led Liberty-Benton with 12 points as the Eagles’ defense limited Ada’s scoring throughout the night.
Liberty-Benton controlled the game from start to finish and secured the 40-point conference victory.
