ELIDA — Lima Central Catholic opened the Tip-Off Classic at the Elida Fieldhouse with a 67-58 win over Shawnee on Tuesday night.

Jordan Priddy sparked the Thunderbirds in the second half, driving to the basket and finishing through contact to put LCC up 36-32. Priddy later grabbed a rebound and pushed the ball himself for a layup that gave him his 1,000th career point.

The play of the night came when Trevick Bertke jumped a passing lane and finished with a two-handed dunk that energized the Thunderbirds.

In the fourth quarter, Shawnee trimmed the lead when Luke Marshall drilled a three from the wing. Beckett Bertke answered with a long-range three on the ensuing possession to pull the Redskins within one.

Lima Central pulled away down the stretch to secure the 67-58 victory and earn their first win of the season in the Tip-Off Classic.
