LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Senior closed out the night with a strong performance, defeating Louisville Trinity 61-56 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The Spartans, unbeaten entering the game at 5-0, set the tone early. In the first quarter, Lima Senior forced a turnover that led to Shawn Foster’s two-handed dunk, sparking a 7-0 run to open the game.
Foster stayed aggressive, attacking off the dribble and knocking down a midrange jumper as Lima Senior built a 6-point lead. The junior led all scorers with 23 points.
Willie Foster provided a boost as well, driving through contact for a tough layup. The Northern Kentucky commit later added a highlight finish in transition, throwing down an emphatic slam off the glass. The senior guard finished with 15 points.
Lima Senior also got production inside, with Elynn Stearns finishing at the rim to help the Spartans maintain their advantage.
Louisville Trinity battled throughout, but Lima Senior made enough plays down the stretch to secure the victory and improve to 6-0 on the season.
