TOLEDO (WLIO) — The number two team in Division II finished the job Thursday night.
Lima Senior entered the Toledo City Athletic League championship game looking for its third straight conference crown, taking on Start for the title.
The Spartans wasted little time taking control. With under a minute to go in the first quarter and Lima Senior already up 14, Willie Foster came up with a steal and threw down a highlight-reel dunk that brought the bench to its feet. The slam pushed the Spartans’ lead to 16.
In the second quarter, Lima Senior continued to pour it on. Amari Addy drew the defense before kicking it out to Noah Simpson, who knocked down the shot. Simpson led the team with 18 points. Foster added 15 in the win.
Lima Senior rolled to an 84-50 victory, securing its third consecutive Toledo City Athletic League championship.
