FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — The 19th-ranked Findlay Oilers stayed perfect on the season Saturday, surviving a close battle with Hillsdale to win 16–14 on homecoming at Donnell Stadium.
The Oilers struck first on their opening drive. Freshman quarterback Andrew Leonard connected with Denny Furlong for a deep completion on third down, setting up a red-zone opportunity. Moments later, Leonard leapt over his own lineman to reach the end zone and give Findlay an early 7–0 lead.
Hillsdale tied it up at 7 before Findlay’s defense made a key stand late in the first quarter, forcing a safety to put the Oilers back in front, 9–7.
With momentum shifting, Leonard delivered again — this time finding Khilee White in tight coverage for a touchdown on fourth down to make it 16–7.
Hillsdale added a late score, but Findlay’s defense held strong to secure the two-point victory and remain undefeated at 6–0 overall (4–0 G-MAC).
