ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) — The Ottawa-Glandorf girls soccer team entered Tuesday night riding a 34-game Western Buckeye League winning streak dating back to the 2021 season.
The Lady Titans were looking to extend that run to 35 straight as they traveled to face St. Marys.
The first half was a defensive battle. St. Marys goalkeeper Bella Hertenstein came up with key saves, including one off a bouncing free kick from midfield.
On the other end, O-G’s Libbie Niese matched her with stops of her own, sending both teams into halftime scoreless.
But midway through the second half, Ottawa-Glandorf finally broke through. Liv Grothause connected with Delaney Duling, who buried the shot to give the Lady Titans a 1-0 lead.
That proved to be the difference, as the O-G defense held strong to secure the shutout. Final Score: Ottawa-Glandorf 1, St. Marys 0 The win extends O-G’s WBL winning streak to 35 games.
