Ottawa-Glandorf hands Leipsic first loss of the season in five-set battle

OTTAWA — In a clash of state-ranked programs, Ottawa-Glandorf rallied to hand Leipsic its first loss of the season in a five-set thriller on Tuesday night.
Leipsic, ranked No. 2 in Division VII, entered the match with a perfect 14-0 record. The Vikings showed early fight, with senior Karmyn Brough delivering an ace and Danaysia Danzy powering through with a kill to keep the opening set close.
But Ottawa-Glandorf, ranked No. 11 in Division V, responded with a surge behind Sienna Fry’s emphatic kill and Addy Bellman’s quick strike at the net to close out the first set.
The two teams traded momentum throughout, forcing a decisive fifth set. In the end, the Titans prevailed 15-13 to claim the match 3-2 and hand Leipsic its first defeat of the year.
