OTTOVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — It was another all–Putnam County battle on the hardwood as unbeaten Ottawa-Glandorf visited Ottoville in a matchup featuring two of the area’s top girls basketball teams.
Ottoville got off to a strong start in the opening quarter when Brooklyn Koester delivered a bounce pass to Kate Turnwald, who knocked down a three-pointer. Turnwald finished the night with 11 points for the Big Green.
In the second quarter, Madison McKee made her presence felt on the glass, pulling down a rebound and converting the putback. The junior ended the game with 13 points as O-G stayed within striking distance.
Koester helped give the home team a brief edge later in the half, attacking the rim for an and-one opportunity. She led all scorers with 17 points, putting Ottoville ahead by one.
Ottawa-Glandorf answered quickly. Findlay commit Karsyn Erford buried a jumper to swing the momentum back to the Titans. Erford matched Koester with 17 points in the game and later connected with Greta Liebrecht on a bounce pass for an easy layup.
The Titans took control down the stretch and remained undefeated, defeating Ottoville 51–43.
Ottawa-Glandorf improves to 15–0 on the season with the road victory, while Ottoville falls to 12-4.
