WAYNESFIELD (WLIO) — Perry kept its hold on first place in the Northwest Central Conference with a shutout win over Waynesfield-Goshen, improving to 5-0 in league play.
Landon Cockerell handled the work on the mound for the Commodores, striking out five over three scoreless innings.
Waynesfield-Goshen’s Turner Thompson also picked up a pair of strikeouts in the loss.
At the plate, Perry continued to add on when Colten Scott’s grounder to short brought home Jonah Cox. Later, Marshall Capps ripped a hit up the middle to drive in another run as the Commodores stayed in control throughout.
Perry finished off the shutout to remain unbeaten in conference action.
