CONTINENTAL, Ohio (WLIO) — In a senior class of 37, Continental's Jackson Bidlack has constantly risen to the occasion.

Described by his peers as a team player, Bidlack displays that trait in soccer, basketball and baseball. And the Pirate senior continues that hard work in the classroom, sporting a 4.0 GPA.

"Jackson's one of the hardest working athletes you'll ever meet. He's a leader on and off the court. He stays humble, he works hard, and he's a great teammate," coach Scott Keck said.

Whether it's on the basketball court, soccer field, or baseball diamond, Continental senior Jackson Bidlack gives it everything he has and always puts his best foot forward.

"Because I love each one of them, and I love that my friends all do all of them. And then I love competing in each one of those sports, and I just try to do my best in each one of them," Bidlack said.

"He keeps the team focused. He never complains, and he's what you would call a team leader, and very rarely do you get to coach a lot of Jackson Bilaks," Keck said.

What you see on the athletic side, translates into the classroom. Jackson's commitment as a student athlete has earned him a 4.0 GPA.

"He has a very strong work ethic and it has grown throughout the years, to right now, he is a perfect role model for our student body in that he leads by example and he's very humble at all his accomplishments and successes, both on the court and in the classroom," Continental social studies teacher Cliff Koenig said.

After he graduates from Continental, Jackson plans to attend college and pursue a career in the STEM field.

"My plans after high school is to go into college for engineering and after that get a job in probably mechanical engineering for a company nearby. I just like how things move and like how things are assembled, like in cars and other stuff like that," Bidlack said.

A standout both in sports and in school, Jackson credits his community for shaping him into someone who's always there for others.

"I want to be remembered as a person that helps out a lot, is a hard worker, and is humble. I think this community has shaped me into being someone where I'm always available and always trying to help out each other and trying to be there for them," he said.

Congratulations to Jackson Bidlack — our newest McDonald's Scholar Athlete of the Week.
