MCGUFFEY (WLIO) — Upper Scioto Valley defended its home floor in a Division VII sectional matchup, turning back NWCC rival Cory-Rawson for the second time this season.
Addyson Duffman led the Hornets with 19 points, including a steal-and-score and a wing three that briefly tied the game. But USV answered quickly behind Layla Hunsicker, who poured in a game-high 25 points.
Raegan Castle added a key inside finish, and Chloe Cunningham chipped in 13 as the Rams leaned on their interior attack late.
Upper Scioto Valley advances with a 52-47 victory and will face Leipsic on Saturday at 2 p.m.
