A Celina man gets arrested on multiple counts of child pornography

A Celina man gets arrested after his media accounts get flagged for child pornography.

51-year-old Glen Sharrock was arrested Tuesday morning and is being held on five counts of Pandering Child Pornography. Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey says that his department was alerted to Sharrock by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children. Mercer County investigators opened an investigation, and they found several sexually explicit photos of juveniles linked to his accounts. The case is being reviewed by the county’s prosecutor for additional charges. Sharrock was convicted in 2009 of Possession of Child Pornography in Indiana, and his sex offender classification ended in 2019.

Media Release from Mercer County Sheriff's Office 5/11/21: Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey today announced the arrest of 51 year old Glen D Sharrock of 3601 St. Rte. 703 lot 57 Celina, Ohio.  Grey advised that his office was contacted by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) on April 20th.  Sheriff’s Office Detectives then opened an investigation. The investigation resulted in detectives applying for several search warrants.  Evidence recovered from the search warrants were several sexually explicit photos of juveniles which were linked to Sharrock’s media accounts.

 This morning (May 11th, 2021) at 7:17 AM, deputies and detectives of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office executed another search warrant at Sharrock’s residence and arrested Sharrock on five (5) counts of Pandering Child Pornography (felonies of the fourth degree). Sharrock was taken to the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility where he is being held without bond. 

 Sharrock was previously a registered sex offender and his registration requirements ended in August of 2019. Sharrock had been convicted in 2009 in Indiana for possession of Child Pornography.

 This case is being reviewed by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office to determine is additional charges should be filed.
