LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Besides the statewide issues, there are numerous other races and issues that will be on local ballots. Our Madison Kenjura breaks down some of what voters will be seeing on November 7th.
In less than a month, Lima voters will have to decide on who will be replacing John Nixon as Council President. First Ward Councilman Todd Gordon and Fifth Ward Councilman Jamie Dixon are competing for the seat.
As for Mayors races, Delphos, Elida, St. Marys, Minster, Columbus Grove, Gilboa, Leipsic, Van Wert, and Findlay are just some of the places looking to pick the leader for their village or city.
As for requests for new money, Bath Township is asking voters to consider a 2.5 mill levy to help fund their fire department. And the Village of Elida is going for new money to help pay for safety services. The Heritage Trails Park District is asking Auglaize County voters to approve a point 5 mill tax levy for their park system and Marion Local School District is asking voters to approve a bond issue for a new building.
As for county-wide issues, voters will see Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin voters are being asked to renew a levy for the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board. Also in Hardin County, voters will decide to continue funding for the Board of Developmentally Disabled and the OSU Extension Office. And the Mercer County District Library wants voters to renew their tax levy.
Besides these, there are many more township, school district, and municipality races and issues on local ballots. So get out and make your voice heard.
