ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - It's the last section of ArtSpace Lima to become accessible to everyone regardless of mobility issues. The lower level has been home to the clay lab for years and the number of stairs to get to it was an issue for some. That has been corrected by this new wheelchair lift which was provided by a grant from Procter and Gamble along with community donations. The lift allows for additional class space accessible by all.
ArtSpace executive director Sally Windle adds, “It opens up not only this area but the stained glass lab. So people can experience the whole building. Take classes where the kilns are as well as do the stained glass in its original place. So, it opens up more possibilities to the community.”
ArtsSpace is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and the public is invited to come check out the new lift and the expanded clay and stained glass labs.
